Winners of the 2024 Emmy Awards Announced: One Series Takes Home 18 Trophies

The night of September 15 to 16 witnessed the grand 2024 "Emmy" Awards ceremony, a highly-anticipated event held in Los Angeles. A myriad of celebrities gathered to celebrate the best in television.

It was revealed that this year’s standout was the series "Shogun," which revolves around the story of an English seafarer in Japan. The show dominated the awards, amassing an impressive 18 statues. Interestingly, "Shogun" was also nominated a record-breaking 25 times.

The second-highest honor went to the series "The Bear," taking home 11 awards. The storyline follows a young chef returning to his hometown of Chicago in an effort to save a small restaurant he inherited after his brother’s death. He faces a barrage of challenges: health inspectors find numerous violations, a loan shark demands repayment of his brother's debt, and the old staff resists every proposed change.

In terms of acting, several well-known and exceptionally talented individuals walked away with awards. Notable among them was 52-year-old Liza Colón-Zayas who portrayed Tina Marrero in "The Bear," and also Anna Sawai from "Shogun."
