The "Miss Universe 2024" international beauty pageant has officially kicked off, and this year it is taking place in Mexico. Alina Ponomarenko, who earned the title of "Miss Universe Ukraine 2024" and is representing her country in the event, has already arrived in Mexico.

The Ukrainian model shared the first moments from the competition on her Instagram. Among the posts, she published a photo from the airport, where she mentioned that she was on her way to Mexico. In the caption of the image, Alina wrote: "Hello Universe, I’m on my way. The most significant event of my life is just around the corner. I hope for your support."

Later on, Ponomarenko announced the official start of "Miss Universe" and posted photos with other contestants. In her social media stories, she shared that she had already met representatives from other countries and expressed how thrilled she is to be part of such a global event.

The model has already tried on various looks, including posing in a white draped gown and a delicate pink dress with floral prints.

"Miss Universe, Day 1. On the first day, we all got to know each other, and I’m so happy to be in the company of women who are beautiful both inside and out," – the Ukrainian representative shared her emotions about the competition.

About Alina Ponomarenko

Alina is 20 years old and holds a degree in International Justice and Law from the National University "Odesa Law Academy." She has a strong modeling background and previous experience in beauty pageants. In 2023, she won the title of "Miss Odesa" and ranked among the top ten at the international Miss Supertalent-2023 competition in South Korea. This year, she became the winner of "Miss Universe Ukraine 2024."

Beyond modeling, Alina initiated a project called "Tree of Love," which focuses on supporting elderly individuals. Through this initiative, she provides food, medicine, and other essential supplies to seniors.

It’s also worth mentioning that Alina Ponomarenko previously responded to questions about how she plans to handle any possible provocations from Russian contestants at the "Miss Universe 2024" competition.
