"The Ultimate Defense Capability": Kim Jong-un Orders Nuclear Readiness
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered the country’s nuclear strike capabilities to be fully primed for action.
According to Reuters, citing state-run media, North Korea recently conducted missile tests aimed at sending a warning to "hostile forces who seriously threaten security and heighten tensions," while also showcasing the nation’s "readiness across various nuclear operations."
"True deterrence and defense lie in overwhelming strike power," Kim stated.
The missile launch reportedly took place on Wednesday over waters off the western coast of the Korean Peninsula.
This test occurred during the same week Kim made back-to-back visits to military academies, underlining the importance of both ideological commitment and tactical training for young officers.
Although Kim did not directly name any countries, he referenced the United States and South Korea when speaking about confronting adversaries.
North Korea’s Missile Development
For several years, North Korea has been working on strategic cruise missiles designed to carry nuclear warheads. These systems often provoke less outrage from the global community than ballistic missiles, as they are not explicitly banned under current United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The Security Council has forbidden North Korea from developing ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons, implementing multiple sanctions in response to ongoing violations.
